Club Photos
Established in the early 50's, Steels Club is one of Sunderland’s best known and oldest Social Clubs. We are situated next to the Sunderland Royal Hospital at the junction of Hylton Road and Pallion Road with easy access by local bus routes and approx 10 minutes walk from both Millfield and Pallion Metro Stations.
The foyer of the club provides full disabled access, including a lift to the upper floor.
There are three main areas of the club:
- Bar and Games Room
- Lounge
- Concert Room
The Bar Area:
We have a large bar and excellent games room with two snooker tables, a pool table and two separate darts areas.
There are 3 plasma TVs screens for the showing of live sporting events and they are positioned to allow for easy viewing from all positions around the bar.
The Lounge:
With comfortable seating for up to 120 people, a bar and a PA system with static and roving mics, the lounge is ideal for smaller private functions or corporate meetings. The lounge is available for hire every weekday and on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
Concert Room:
The large concert room comfortably seats up to 300 people with good viewing of the large raised stage from all areas.
There is a large bar and the room has a full PA system with static and roving mics and a drop down big screen for showing live sporting events.
Ideal for hosting our regular live music, the room is also available for hire for larger private functions every weekday and on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Perfect for conferences, meetings, presentations, reunions, Christmas parties etc.
Hospitality:
Our bars serve soft and alcoholic drinks at very reasonable prices with a wide range of ales and lagers. We can also provide catering to suit every function.
Steels has hosted many events in the past such as Sportsman's Evenings, Sunderland City College Hairdressing Exhibitions and Sunderland Royal Hospital Christmas Parties.
Live Entertainment
We hold live entertainment every week:
Friday and Saturday evenings are group nights in the Concert Room featuring some of the North East's finest rock bands.
Sunday and Wednesday evenings in the Concert Room are for solo artists or duos and in the Lounge we have a Karaoke night every Monday. Live entertainment starts from 8pm onwards.
